What are the real directions of current flow in a 4 terminal duolateral PSD?
Answer
The direction of currents in a PSD is such that the current flows out of the front side electrodes and into the bottom side electrodes (current direction defined as the direction in which a positively charged particle will flow). To measure the electrode currents one terminal of a current measuring device (a total of four measuring devices) is connected to each electrode and the other (four) terminals of the current measuring devices joined together in a common ground. The current measuring devices could for example consist of op-amp transimpedance amplifiers.
