What is meant by "fall-off parameter"?

Our PSDs are of duo lateral type operating in the photoconductive mode where the generated photocurrent is dividing in sheet resistors on the front and back side of the
device and the current parts are picked up by electrodes.
The fall-off parameter is not used by us.
This parameter was created to characterize the old type (tetra lateral) PSD when operating in the photovoltaic mode. The parameter describes the fall-off of the lateral photo voltage.
